Upcoming TYA Ireland Event:

WORLD RENOWNED CHILDREN’S THEATRE WRITER COMES TO IRELAND

Mike Kenny’s work for Children’s Theatre has been presented throughout the world and in many languages, and continues to attract great interest from producers and audiences alike.

Mike will be in Ireland for a Gala performance of his play Boy with a Suitcase produced by Barnstorm, and while here he has agreed to present a day-long workshop for TYA Ireland.

TYA Ireland is excited about the possibilities of encouraging new work for the sector – there is a constant need for new plays for our diverse audiences and we are looking to encourage and entice writers to explore the rich legacy that exists, and to contribute to the further development of Theatre for Young Audiences in Ireland and abroad. TYAI would like to see both new and established writers avail of this opportunity to explore this exciting and growing area of theatre practice in Ireland.

The workshop will be of particular interest to those who write for, or have an aspiration to write for the Theatre for Young Audiences sector in Ireland. The workshop will be hosted by TYA Ireland in Dublin at Dance House, Foley Street (off Talbot Street) on Saturday 30 January from 11.00am until 4.30pm. Places are limited and there will be a €30 cost to each participant. Please forward a brief letter of interest and biog to TYA Ireland tya.ireland@barnstorm.ie
